Oh god that's a hard question babes, when it comes to couples I love to put all characters in a jar, shake it and see how they come out paired lmao I like them all

If I really reeeally have to choose between all the combinations, my favorite ones would probably be:

Sam/Sebastian DUH, Abigail/Maru (I beg you all to see my vision), Haley happily single aro-ace queen, Leah/Farmer but I'm willing to consider Leah/Haley as an alternative to these last two (femme princess/artsy nature masc hello??), Harvey/Emily (they are made for each other I don't make the rules), Shane/Therapy (unironically, I need him to focus on himself and Jas first) but as an alternative or future possibility I love poly found-family trio Shane/Emily/Harvey, Penny/Gunther, Elliott/Alex because @lily-alphonse put me onto it and now I'm obsessed, Marnie/Marlon (for the love of god Marnie STAND UP GIRL), Pierre/Morris because it's so hilarious that it goes full circle and make perfect sense, see @genericb34ns to know what I'm talking about also Krobus/Dwarf enemies to lovers

(I apologize in advance for the Emily/Sandy erasure, I know they are girlfriends I only wish we knew more about our desert girlie so I could feel more attached to her, also there are so many pairings that I love that I haven't included 😭😭😭 I can't choose)

marnie x the wizard

she cares for animals for a living so when his familiar gets sick she’s the only one he can call

she doesn’t question his strange attire or comment on the color of his hair. he’s clearly in distress, and there’s a kitty that needs her help all bundled up in his arms

the kitty is all fine, just pregnant and in active labor, which comes as a shock to the wizard because he thought his familiar was a male cat

a few hours later, they welcome five healthy kittens. he asks her to name the first one, a squirmy little orange kitten, and she names it daffodil. they take turns naming the others — rose, lilac, petunia, and orchid

marnie agrees to let all six cats stay with her until they’re stronger. the wizard brings food, medicine, and blankets for them

marnie gets to feel comfortable with this magical neighbor of hers. he doesn’t seem quite so mysterious or fearsome when he’s sitting cross legged on her kitchen floor bottle feeding tiny squealing kittens

eventually the mama cat feels healthy and strong and starts relocating her kittens back towards the tower, her original home. marnie and the wizard take this as their cue to move the cat beds into the tower

at marnie’s suggestion, rasmodius builds a kitty jungle gym along the walls of his home. he buys cat towers from marnie, and when she refuses payment he just magically deposits a sack full of coins onto her counter

they bond over the kittens, and their shared love of animals and nature. they take long walks around cindersap forest together, foraging and pointing out ferns and herbs that are good for soups or tea (or spells)

one night the wizard’s familiar runs away again, and marnie’s shop is the first place he checks

he finds his cat lazily sprawled out on top of a hay bale. as he goes to scoop her up, he sees marnie looking out of an upstairs window at him

“she ran away again. my apologies, miss marnie.” “how many times do i have to tell you? just marnie is fine.”

the wizard smiles shyly. is he blushing? “just once more, miss marnie.”

unsure of how much of a rarepair this is, but since I saw Marlon's thing for the Flower Dance saying how pretty Marnie looked, I canNOT stop thinking about these old people finding love with each other again im so-

Marnie and Marlon are canon in my heart.

Marlon is everything Lewis isn’t. He isn’t a smooth talker, just honest. He isn’t good with kids by his own estimations but kids like him. Jas likes funny eyepatch man a lot more than she likes smelly Lewis.

Maybe he comes to Marnie because Harvey has warned he needs to eat a more balanced diet, and he wants to know how much it would take to raise chickens or maybe buy eggs from her/Shane.

He stays for tea and pie, Marnie joking she probably isn't the best to come to for dieting advice, patting her stomach and laughing.

He catches himself wanting to assure her she's beautiful. He can't stop blushing.

A while later, Jas wants him to come to her birthday picnic. NOT Lewis. She makes this adamantly clear by way of a tantrum. Lewis is going to be weird and hog Marnie's attention and Shane can't say he disagrees, giving Marnie a pointed look about it as he comforts the screaming child.

Backed into a corner she invites him, and he rereads her letter over and over in a giddy sort of disbelief he hasn't felt in a long time. He isn't sure what a girl would like for her birthday so he brings her a pretty rock that sparkles in the sun.

They play cards by the river, until Jas is bored and Marlon teaches her and Vincent to sword-fight with sticks.

Shane gives Marnie that look again, as she watches them play with a fond smile.

"What?" she hisses, blushing.

"You know what," he grumbles, drinking his sparkling water. "Marlon seems nice."

Marnie doesn't answer him. He couldn't possibly be interested in her, no one is. She was lucky enough to find Lewis.

But he feels her watching and turns to smile at her, waving sheepishly... right before Vincent barrels backwards into him, sending them tumbling.

"Oh goodness!" Marnie shoots up and jogs over to help, hefting the man up with an arm strong from farmwork. "Be careful with Mr. Marlon, Vincent!"

Marlon dusts himself off, laughing. His hand tingles where she helped him up. Her hands are thick and calloused and he wants to hold them again. "That's alright, Miss Marnie. I'm not fragile."

She smiles at him as Vincent runs off again. "Please, call me Marnie."

My Day 8 entry for Stardew Valley Inktober is finally ready, on day 16!

“Dad, not again! He’s trying, okay? He got a new job and wants things to work out this time, we both do, for Alex’s sake. And I love him, so just drop it, please?”

Gus caught George’s expression which indicated he didn’t believe a word she said, nor would he be ‘dropping it’ any time soon.

“Well, you know how I feel,” he grumbled with resignation. “Come on, I’ll get us a seat.”

“Oh, before you go,” Gus half called out, half yelped. “I didn’t catch your name?”

“It’s Clara. Nice to meet you again, Gus.”

And once again, she was gone.

I really like Abby and Penny and honestly dont even know why, I just love them together without a reason lord

Favorite rare pair is Penny/Alex.

Like okay. Okay. Hear me out. Jock/Nerd trope. And then ALSO tutor/student trope because I could see Penny tutoring him in reading and math.

But it goes further. I could see them working together in a school. Alex is the gym teacher and the little league coach. Penny is a reading/math teacher. They eat lunch she packed together in her classroom or his office. She goes to his little league games to support her students.

I’ve thought about it way too much. I could see them living the most disgustingly cute life together.
